Being an exterminator is a tough job. Not only do you have to deal with household pests and bugs, but you also have to watch as homeowners attempt to do the exterminating job themselves.
Though it may seem easy to buy a DIY extermination method, Richard Bozarjian of Bozarjian Pest Control says it’s not effective – and it’s not safe.
Richie the Bug Man, as he is known, has been in the pest control industry for over 25 years so you can be he knows the ins and outs of proper treatment for whatever household critters you have.
That’s why, he said, buying treatments won’t work. “The effectiveness is not as great, and the products that I can use are far superior to the ones that you can buy at a local hardware store,” he explained.
“I’m trained and I can apply the chemical in a safe manner,” Bozarjian continued, “If you buy something at the store, you may apply it incorrectly and it could cause a hazard.”
And, whether we want them to or not, the season of carpenter ants are coming. Bozarjian said that he has access to highly technical products with the greatest effectiveness and safety that you won’t find anywhere else.
Bozarjian wants homeowners of the North Shore to know not only that these pest problems are real, but also exactly what you can expect from him when you call Bozarjian Pest Control.
First up, termites.
To treat termites, Bozarjian said, he does a single application around the perimeter of the exterior of the home. Sometimes, he said, he will do a treatment inside if it’s necessary, but in most situations an exterior application will do the trick.
He will inject the Termidor – a safe termite treatment – into the soil. This way, he said, the termites don’t detect it’s presence. The bugs will live life normally and bring it back to the colony, he explained.
“It eliminates the problem within 6 weeks,” Bozarjian said, “You don’t have to look back again.”
He continued, “I’ve been using the product for over 10 years now and [I’ve had] no call backs” for a second treatment.
Bozarjian also warned against a product that some other companies use: Monitoring stations and bait stations. He said that they have not proven to be very effective, as the termites will still feed upon the house if they don’t hit the cylinders.
He also said that many companies use the cylinders for revenue to get that call back. Bozarjian’s one treatment, he said, comes with a three year guarantee and a free inspection.
The other problem you might see this time of year are carpenter ants.
For this problem, Bozarjian explained, he will use dual treatments. The dual treatments are necessary, he said, because ants travel in and out of the home to find food. He doesn’t want to leave any area untreated.
He will apply an exterior chemical to the outside perimeter which is safe and use a gel application for the inside of the home which is also safe for children and pets.
Bozarjian said, “This treatment is guaranteed for the entire season, or through the end of the year.”
