If you ever see rats outside your home, first make sure your trash containers are in good shape and closed properly so that you remove their food source. Next, call us and we’ll come out to set bait traps. The bait we use is effective in killing rats while at the same time safe for kids and pets.
We will typically use three or four bait stations around a home, depending on its size. We will follow up with another visit a week after your first treatment and then come out again two weeks later. The bait stations will be yours to keep. If we have to return again, all you’ll need to pay for will be refilling the boxes.
After two weeks your problem should be eliminated. However, there can be factors that are out of your control that could cause the problem to return. You may have a clean yard and pick up all of your trash, but there may be others in the neighborhood who aren’t as clean. If rats are coming to your property because they’re coming from adjoining houses and/or apartments, you should consider calling your local health department.
